The rain poured as the fillies and mares splashed into the parade ring for race 5 at Canterbury Park on Wednesday. They cantered to the start and loaded quickly into the gates, keen for the athletes to not catch a chill. Despite being drawn the widest, Adam Hyeronimus urged 'Grace' to fly to the front of the pack before steadying the speed and controlling the race from there on. Mollyfied, ridden by James Innes Jnr and trained by Gerald Ryan, sat just a neck off 'Grace' as they reached the first turn, and by the final turn it was just Villa Carlotta, pioleted by Jean Van Overmeire and trained by Kris Lee's, that was left travelling on the bridle. Despite this our honest, gutsy little mare had already kicked nearly 2 lengths clear and her turn of foot on the wet ground made her too quick to catch! Amazing 'Grace' lead from post to post with a winning margin of 1.5 lengths under a confident ride by Adam, who had previously pioleted 'Grace' to victory at Hawkesbury.

We would like to congratulate Filomena's Grace's loyal owners, Mr N Moratis, Mr C Smith, Mr A Coluccio and Mrs L Reilly and would like to give an extra shout out to 'Grace's' track work rider, Kerry Morton, who rides 'Grace' so beautifully every morning.
