He might be small, but he sure is mighty. Destiny's Kiss teamed up Hugh Bowman for 2017 CARLTON MID WYONG GOLD CUP (2100 METRES) on Friday and pair duly delivered for the geldings eighth cup win.

The Power Of Destiny gelding was passed in at the 2010 Inglis Classic sale for just $7,000 and now boosts a record of 16 wins, 5 seconds and 1 third from 71 starts with earnings of over $1.1m.

There was good early pace with the Kris Lees trained SINGING ($26) and the Chris Waller trained SAYED ($1.35F) taking up a positive position early. This generous speed gave Destiny's Kiss the opportunity to secure his usual spot at the rear end of the field.

Around the bend the pressure was on with Dee I Cee, SINGING and SAYED all in a line fighting for the lead while Bowman was fourth on the rail picking his run. At the 200m Destiny's Kiss got his first glimpse of daylight and stormed down the straight to win by 0.31L.

After the race Joe reported,
"He didn't have a particularly hard run last Saturday and came here today with something in his legs,"

"The way he pulled up from Sunday to Monday you could see he was spot on and I loved the way he paraded today. He brought his best game here today and turned up with a win.

"He is one of the smallest horses in the stable but full of courage and we're very proud of him and a good effort from the team at home."

Destiny's Kiss has given our long term client Nick Moraitis many joyful days at the races and see to him race in such great order in his seventh season is a true pleasure to him.
