It was an exciting day for all involved at Newcastle on Friday 14th September as it was gold cup day. Jockey Tim Clark and NEW TIPPERARY teamed up in the AUSTRALIAN BLOODSTOCK CAMERON HANDICAP Group 3 over 1500 metres and despite being the last race of the day, it was worth the wait as they won by just over a length and paid $31!

Our HIGH CHAPARRAL (IRE) X ASSERTIVENESS six year old gelding was placed to run well as he carried the minimum weight of 54kg.

NEW TIPPERARY, aka Bronson, jumped well from barrier six and with encouragement from Tim settled mid field just off the pace. With the leader running on, there was a lot of pace in the race which left Bronson off the bridle before the turn. Tim swung wide around the turn to ensure they remained in the clear and didn't lose their momentum as they headed into the straight.

In the last 100 metres Tim really boxed on and Bronson responded by kicking past the rest of the field and into the clear to win the race.

Pride Racing would like to congratulate Ungar Family, Mr N J Pinner, Mr H M Kelly, Mr A J Rix, Mr P J Trowbridge, Mr R P Coombs, Mr L J Tansey, Mr J C Westneat, Mrs L M Westneat and Double R Thoroughbreds on the successful day and look forward to the rest of the season!
