MAID IN MILAN made the trip out to Bathurst on the 24th September worth while as her efforts paid off and she broke her maiden under jockey Bobby El-Issa on ground rated at a good 3 over 1208 metres.

Our pretty MASTER OF DESIGN X LADY OF DORMELLO mare has been given all the time she's needed and Joe's patience with her is paying off as she won her maiden in just two starts, beating the Bjorn Baker trained favourite BAAED ($1.75) by a solid 2.87 lengths.

Carrying 57kg's, MAID IN MILAN aka Adele, jumped from barrier 6 well using her natural speed before being asked to steady and settle fifth in the run. Coming into the home straight Adele was travelling nicely and used her tenacious attitude to find a gap between the others and wrestle on hard to win the race just in the nick of time!

The step up in distance did Adele the world of good and Joe feels she will only keep improving as we keep slowly increasing the distance she races over until she reaches her preffered trip. This visit to Bathurst helped Adele hugely regarding her education and progression. Not only did her behaviour improve in the barriers at the start of the race but she showed us a real raw fighting spirit in the home straight as she hit the line hard.

We would like to congratulate the owners on their win, in particular Mr Frank Pride who was celebrating his birthday on the day!
