Spirits were high at Wyong yesterday as our SO YOU THINK gelding, SO SPIRITED won race 7. Armed with a 1.5kg claim from in form apprentice Jean Van Overmeire, SO SPIRITED (aka 'Chap') dashed home along the fence to win the charity cup.

SO SPIRITED bounced out of the inside barrier to settle mid field in the race on the heels of second favourite, FALCON ISLAND ($4.80) ridden by Avdulla. At the 600 metre mark, JVO encouraged SO SPRITIED to move up onto the pace before joining MO THE GREAT ($7), trained by Kim Waugh, at the home turn. The tempo quickend as the competitors came off the bridle to battle it out. It was at this moment that JVO spotted the gap that had emerged along the fence and took it without a second thought to cut the corner. SO SPIRITED lengthened his stride and powered home just in the nick of time to win the race by just under half a length.

Pride Racing would like to congratulate Proven Thoroughbreds (Mgr Jamie Walter), owners and connections on their win as well as strapper, Rachael Roberts for taking such good care of 'Chap' on the day and Kerry Morton for riding 'Chap' so well on the track every morning.
