Fifteen’s First Round

Yesterday Fifteen Rounds, aka Vincent, took to the stage at Kembla for his maiden to achieve a knock out win. He jumped late, giving the other horses a head start before having to settle last in the field about 8 lengths off the leader which was Michael Tubman trained, Star Mantle, ridden by Winona Costin. Luckily, we had experienced jockey Corey Brown on board who didn’t panic and slowly coaxed ‘Vincent’ to join the rest of the pack just before the home turn. Forced to swing wide, young ‘Vincent’ wasn’t too confident about leaving his newly found friends in the field and tried to hide behind a fellow competitor to use as a comfort blanket. But with some encouragement from Corey ‘Vincent’ managed to pip Darley horse, Unwise, at the post for an impressive win.

Previously having 2 trials on his home track at Warwick Farm and placing in both, Vincent was primed and ready for his debut. The 2yo colt by the Irish multiple group winning sprinter, Invincible Spirit is a cheeky yet relaxed character to train said Joe. ‘Vincent’ was purchased at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale as lot 377 from Yarraman Park Stud in Scone for $200,000 in 2017.
