Five year old COSMOLOGIST shot for the stars at Canterbury Park in race 7 over 1580 metres on Wednesday 12th September 2018. In form apprentice Sam Weatherley steered Cosmo to victory while giving him the advantage of having 2kg's taken off his back which left him to carry a lighter weight of 57.5kg's on the day over the soft ground.

Our UNCLE MO (USA) X SKIP ALONG (GB) gelding has been a dream to train since owner Ross Williams made the decision to shift him from the country to us here in Sydney. Since settling in with us, Cosmo has flourished, winning his first two starts in style.

If you're a punter you would've hoped to have backed Cosmo on the day as he paid a solid $8.00 and won the race by just under a length, beating the favourite by 4!

Despite jumping from barrier 8, Cosmo sprung out and Weatherley squeezed him on to settle in the lead. By the 1200 metre mark, Cosmo lead comfortably by two lengths, dictating the speed of the race from there. Weatherley sat patiently on Cosmo, allowing him to travel and remain balanced until after the turn where he asked him to dig deep.

Cosmo ran an honest race and we're delighted for his owner Ross Williams (Superhorse) as he reaches a well deserved $149,370 in prize money.

We would also like to give a special shout out to Racheal Roberts, who rides Cosmo at track work every morning and cares for him so well on a daily basis- they make a great pair.
